Director of Education: Candace Scott
The OAFN Education Department came together in May 2024. Chief and Council approved the organization of Directors in the various departments in the community. Then the process began to organize OAFN Education Department. It has been a wonderful experience this far and truly enjoying working with the Education Team.
OAFN Education Department has created and amended policies and will continue working in this area. Our filing system is still in the stages of gathering information and making sure that Human Resources and the school have the same information, that is required for all staff in education. We have staff who are working hard to make sure this information is updated.
The OAFN Education Department works with the following programs as well.
One area that I enjoy working with, is mentoring staff. I have supported staff who are pursuing higher levels of education, and staff who want to learn everyday. I encourage the community members and students from the school, to push themselves to learn as much as you can. I always mention to everyone, that someday you will be sitting in our seats. So, Learn! Learn! Learn!
“Teaching is the profession, that teaches all other professions.”
Everyone in the Education Team, help the community in everyway they can, the school serves the students. The OAFN Education Staff serve community members with Employment & Training Programming, Post Secondary Programming, and other Education Services required by community members.
We invite everyone to visit the education buildings and meet the people who serve your children and adults. I am very proud of all the staff on the Education Team.
The OAFN Education Department office is located near the school, which was once called the brown building. Our office is located behind the school and our doors are always open to serve you.
We thank Chief and Council for their hard work and dedication to education. The support of the One Arrow Band Administration and Finance Team for everything that your do for One Arrow First Nation.
Thank you and look forward to your visits! Ekosi!
